Reported by Scout Magazine earlier today the newly opened Rave Pastry Shop is closing and the current owner is opening up a casual French concept restaurant called Cafe Regalade in it's place. Rave opened up late last year in the old Joe Fortes catering headquarters. 

We wish Steeve Rayé and Cafe Regalade great success when they open in a few weeks. It is always great to see new concepts opening in our neighborhood.

Steeve Rayé, the son of Alain Rayé (owner/chef at West Vancouver’s award-winning La Regalade), has closed his short-lived pastry shop in Kitsilano at 2836 West 4th (opened late October) and is opening a new casual French concept called Cafe Regalade in its place in roughly two weeks. Raye plans on six days a week for brunch/lunch and afternoon service (closed Mondays). He will also be seeking out a liquor license, and once that is taken care of we can expect the restaurant to open for nights as well. We’re being told to anticipate French fare similar to that of La Regalade, only less expensive (everything under $20) with smaller plates, plenty of charcuterie and a younger crowd.
